Smoking shisha was a sharp and unexpected increase in toxin levels for my sissy, non-smoker body. Shisha is dangerous because it's actually <em>pleasant</em> to smoke. But in spite of all that flavouriciousness, it's still tobacco, through and through. And although we've all experienced a tobacco hangover before, usually I've slept a lot of it off. On this occasion, I bore the brunt of it in the air, travelling back to NZ from Qatar, restless as an autumn leaf, but much more angry-pony. Can't remember how many hours, but it was the most hellish flight I've ever experienced. Elucidate huh? Nice.
